We are authorised by the European Commission (as a Notified Body under the Low Voltage Directive) to: make judgements concerning product safety; determine the safety standards applicable to specific products; and to apply and interpret those standards.

If you choose to have products tested by us you will be able to demonstrate legal due diligence concerning the conformance of those products with safety standards. In other words, in the event that there were any legal issues concerning the safety of the products, you would be able to show that, by using us, you had done everything reasonably possible to ensure that the safety testing was undertaken correctly.

Our Notified Body status authorises us to draw up reports of conformity and give opinions in relation to the electrical equipment listed below:

• Audio, video and similar electronic apparatus
• Electrical and electronic controls
• Electrical wiring accessories
• Household and similar
• IT and telecommunications equipment
• Measurement, control and laboratory equipment
• Transformers

We are also authorised to act as a Designated Conformity Assessment Body for Australia and New Zealand under mutual recognition agreements.
