CCC Mark

CCC mark

From 1st August 2003, the CCC (Chinese Compulsory Certification) mark became mandatory for most electrical and electronic products sold in China. Nemko was not only the first European laboratory to be accredited by the Chinese authorities, but it was also one of the first bodies to sign an MoU with CNCA, (the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China). We are pleased to offer CCC certification as part of our Nemko Direct service for worldwide markets.

CCC certification indicates that (i) a product has been tested by an accredited third party for compliance with both the Chinese safety and EMC requirements (as applicable), and that (ii) the production site has been independently assessed.

Currently a Chinese laboratory must carry out the relevant EMC test work, but the safety requirements may be based on a CB report, including Chinese deviations.

Normally the Chinese certification body will carry out the pre-licence factory inspection, but a European body (such as Nemko) that has been authorised by CQC, the Chinese certification body, can carry out subsequent annual inspections.

Products that require CCC marking include:

• Audio and Video Apparatus
• Detectors for Intruder Alarms
• Electric Tools
• Electrical Wires and Cables
• Household and Similar Electrical Appliances
• Information Technology Equipment
• Lighting Apparatus
• Low-voltage Electrical Apparatus
• Medical Devices
• Telecommunication Terminal Equipment
