The N Mark is available to manufacturers of electrotechnical products, e.g.: White Goods, Brown Goods, ITE, Luminaires, Electrical Accessories, Laboratory Equipment etc... etc...

The N Mark confirms that the product has undergone rigorous safety tests, to ensure protection from mechanical injury, burns and electric shock. In addition the manufacturing site, wherever in the world, is inspected and approved.

N Mark Approval requires compliance with the European EMC Directive, if applicable. Upon satisfactory completion of these requirements, the manufacturer is issued a licence to apply the N Mark to his products.

Elements of N Mark Approval

• Demonstration of Compliance with the EMC Directive, if applicable
• Factory Surveillance (annual)
• Market Surveillance (where applicable)
• Control and Approval of Modifications
• N Mark Approval is valid for 10 years, after which a complete retest may be required
