New Agreement with KTC (formerly KETI)

Flag South Korea

For more than 12 years Nemko has cooperated with KETI (Korea Electrical Testing Institute), which in 2010 was renamed KTC (Korea Testing Certification) after merging with former MPI (Korean Machinery & Petroleum Institute).
A new agreement was signed with KTC in Oslo on 25 July 2011. The objective of the cooperation is primarily to help Nemko’s clients with mandatory certification for products exported to South Korea, and likewise help KTC’s clients with their access to the European market.

Benefiting from the Free Trade Agreement between the EU and South Korea, KCC (formerly MIC) has announced that EMC and safety test reports from European laboratories notified by the EU, from 1 July 2011, are accepted as the basis for KCC certification. This, however, only concerns IT and telecom equipment under the jurisdiction of the authority KCC-RRA (formerly MIC). For other electrical equipment under the jurisdiction of the authority MKE-KATS, the above mentioned agreement with KTC is applicable.
