European Commission Regulation No 1275/2008 requires that the standby power consumption of “electrical and electronic household and office equipment” has to be less than 1.00W in “off mode”, 1.00W in “standby mode without display” and 2.00W in “standby mode with display”, for all applicable products placed on the market from 7 January 2010.
